The best personalized gifts for kids put the child's name, photo or own drawings on something they will use or keep: a name puzzle for a toddler, a stuffed animal made from a five-year-old's drawing, custom sneakers for a seven-year-old, a monogrammed backpack for a tween. Below are twenty, grouped by age, with the price, what gets personalized and how long each takes, because made-to-order gifts need more time than anything else on your list.

Every price and detail was checked on each brand's own website on October 30, 2026. Prices change often, especially in November, so check at checkout. One pick is ours: we make Museme, a personalized art book, and it is labeled as such.

Babies and toddlers (0–2)

At this age the gift is really for the parents too. Choose something sturdy, safe for small hands, and worth keeping once it is outgrown.

1. Personalized Name Puzzle, Fat Brain Toys

A wooden puzzle with one piece per letter of the child's name, up to nine letters. It works as a toy first, then as a way to learn the letters of their own name. $26.95, plus $7.99 shipping (free over $99), for ages 1 and up; the site said it ships in 3–5 business days. A gift bag is $3.95 extra, and the display stand is sold separately.

2. Herringbone Personalized Baby Blanket, Pottery Barn Kids

A soft knit blanket with the baby's name or monogram, up to 11 characters. $125 with personalization and shipping included, so it is a splurge, but it is the kind of blanket that ends up in a keepsake box. Pottery Barn Kids' Christmas table said monogrammed items ordered by December 17 arrive by December 24.

3. My Very Own Name, I See Me!

A picture book in which animals bring the letters of the child's first and last name, in rhyme, until the whole name is spelled out. $34.99, 44 pages, ages 0–6; standard US shipping is $6.99. A good first book for a baby whose name is the point of the gift.

4. Lost My Name, Wonderbly

Wonderbly's first book, from 2013, and one of the best-known personalized picture books: a child loses their name and gets it back one letter at a time, each letter from a different character. From $39.99, 22 pages, ages 0–8, printed and dispatched in 2–4 working days. Hardcover costs more than the starting price. Read our Lost My Name review and five alternatives before you choose.

5. Layers of Love Family Handprint Kit, Uncommon Goods

A kit for layering up to five family members' handprints, largest to smallest, into one framed piece. $40, and it usually ships within 24 hours. The page lists it for "1 mo+" but also warns it contains small parts not for children under 3, so treat it as a project for the parents, with the baby's hand as the smallest layer.

Preschool (3–5)

Three- to five-year-olds love finding themselves: their name, their face, their own drawing turned into something real.

6. Photo Memory Game, Pinhole Press

A matching game of 24 cards made from 12 of your photos: grandparents, pets, cousins, the house. $21.99, on sale for $16.49 when we checked, for ages 2 and up; made in 2–3 business days, then economy shipping in 4–8 days. One option showed as out of stock that day, so check before you plan around it.

7. Kids Personalized Alphabet Plate, Uncommon Goods

A plate with the alphabet around the rim and the child's name in the center, in one of four themes. $36, ages 2 and up. It is made to order and cannot be returned; when we checked, the page said orders would ship no later than November 17.

8. Family books, Hooray Heroes

Picture books about a relationship, such as You'll Always Be My Little Girl, where you customize each character's look (hair, skin tone, eyes and more) and the names. Most of their favorites were $39.99 on sale (regularly $59.99), printed and shipped from the US, and you can preview the pages before you buy.

9. Custom stuffed animal from your child's drawing, Budsies

Send in a drawing and Budsies turns it into a 16-inch plush, lopsided legs and all. Nothing else on this list makes a child's own idea real in quite the same way. $139 on sale (was $169); 30-inch versions cost more. The catch is time: the page said about 6–8 weeks, regular holiday spots were already sold out, and only a paid Holiday Rush guarantees Christmas delivery.

10. Mackenzie Backpack, Pottery Barn Kids

A classic preschool and kindergarten backpack in dozens of prints, embroidered with a name or initials. $59.50 for the small size, $79.50 large, plus $17 for personalization, with free shipping. On some prints the embroidery covers part of the pattern.

11. Personalized art book, Museme (ours)

From one clear photo, your child becomes the subject of twelve paintings inspired by twelve artists, from Klimt and Van Gogh to Frida Kahlo and Basquiat. Each painting sits beside a page about the artist and a question for your child by name, so it is both a keepsake and a first art book. $49.99 plus $7.99 US shipping (two copies $94.99, three $134.99), ages 3–10, 32-page hardcover. A preview of every page arrives within 24 hours of ordering, and nothing prints until you approve. The last day to order for US Christmas delivery is December 8. See the Museme personalized art book, or our page on personalized gifts for kids for what goes into it.

Early school (6–8)

Six- to eight-year-olds want things that feel grown-up and are clearly theirs: shoes, a water bottle, a necklace, a book they star in.

12. Custom Chuck Taylor All Star By You, Converse

Design-your-own high tops in little kids' sizes: pick colors and prints, and add an embroidered name, number or short text. $60. Custom pairs take longer than regular shoes (the delivery estimate shows in the cart), cannot be returned or exchanged, and run large, so check the size guide.

13. Rambler Jr. 12 oz Kids Water Bottle, YETI

A small, nearly indestructible bottle you can customize with text, a monogram or artwork. $28, ages 3 and up. When we checked, customization was free until November 4; after that, check whether a fee applies.

14. Custom Birthday Charm Necklace, Uncommon Goods

A necklace with the child's age, their birthstone, a colored star and one of six charms. $34, ages 3–9. It is made to order and non-returnable, and the age charm makes it a birthday gift as much as a Christmas one. The page said orders would ship no later than November 12.

15. Where Are You?, Wonderbly

A personalized search-and-find adventure with the child's name, a dedication and an uploaded photo. From $39.99, ages 4–10, printed and dispatched in 2–4 working days. A good pick for a child who has outgrown Lost My Name.

16. Personalized Santa Letter Package, Package from Santa

A letter from Santa with the child's name and details, with higher tiers adding a personalized video and call. $9.95 to $89.95 across four tiers. Packages begin shipping November 16, 48–72 hours after you finish personalizing in your account.

17. Kids Art Book: Keepsake Edition, Artkive

Artkive photographs your child's own artwork, sent in the mail-in box they provide, and prints it as a hardcover book with their name, ages and captions. From $75 for 25 pieces; printing takes 4 business days plus 2–5 days of shipping, but the mail-in step adds time. A $75 deposit applies if the box is not returned within six months.

Tweens (9–12)

Tweens will tell you if a gift is babyish. Personalization works best when it is small and useful: a monogram, a photo, their name on something they would choose anyway.

18. Deluxe Book Pack, 37L, L.L.Bean

A sturdy everyday school backpack with a monogram. $54.95, with two colors on sale at $39.99 when we checked; ages 10 and up. The monogram fee only appears in the bag, and monogrammed orders cannot be picked up in store.

19. Upload Your Own Design Puzzle, Shutterfly

A jigsaw made from one photo or design. The 252-piece puzzle was $34.99 (on sale for $24.49 when we checked) and is rated for ages 9 and up; a 60-piece version suits ages 6 and up. Shutterfly's holiday guide gave December 12 for economy shipping, and notes that personalized items may have earlier cutoffs.

20. Name Flag children's art print, Minted

A small art print of the child's name, designed by an independent artist (taylorVdesign) and colored to match their room. $35 for a 7 × 5 print, or $50 with a white frame; larger sizes and frames cost noticeably more. It works for any age, and tweens redecorating their room often like choosing the colors themselves.

FAQ

What is a good personalized gift for a kid?
One the child will use or keep, with their name, photo or own artwork on it. For toddlers, a name puzzle or name book; for preschoolers, a stuffed animal made from their drawing or a personalized book; for early school ages, custom sneakers or a water bottle; for tweens, a monogrammed backpack.

What is the best personalized gift for a toddler?
A wooden name puzzle, such as Fat Brain Toys' at $26.95, teaches the letters of their name and lasts for years. A personalized name book such as I See Me!'s My Very Own Name is another favorite.

How early should I order personalized Christmas gifts?
Earlier than you think. Some made-to-order items shipped by mid-November when we checked, Budsies only guaranteed Christmas with paid rush, and the other dates we found fell between December 8 and December 21.

Are personalized gifts returnable?
Often not. Uncommon Goods' made-to-order items and Converse custom shoes cannot be returned, so check sizes and spelling carefully before you order.
