How each book gets made
At Wyrd Story you upload one photo and the first three portraits appear in about a minute, free and with no payment. The founder, David, then reviews the photo and hand-selects fourteen styles from a library of more than sixty, chosen to suit the subject's face, expression and personality. Revisions are unlimited, and nothing prints until you approve every page.
At Museme you also start from one clear photo, but you order first. Each of the twelve pages is repainted from a written brief for that artist — composition, palette, brushwork — together with a description of your child's features, so your child stays recognizable in every style. We do not paste a face into a famous painting, and we do not feed the original paintings in as images. A person checks every page before the full twelve-page preview reaches you, within 24 hours of ordering.
What is on each page
Wyrd Story pairs each master painting with your portrait across a spread, so the original and the new version sit side by side. Their book comes in Child, Adult and Pet editions, and the style library includes a set for babies and toddlers.
Museme puts one painting of your child on each artist page, beside the artist's dates, nationality and style in words a 3-to-10-year-old can follow, and a question addressed to your child by name.
